All Gravity saunas are designed for self-assembly without specialist tools. This guide walks you through the process step by step, from unpacking to first use.
## Before You Begin
Before unpacking your Gravity sauna, ensure the installation site is prepared:
- **Floor surface**: A flat, level surface capable of bearing the weight of the cabinet and occupants. Concrete, solid timber, or tile are ideal. Carpet is generally unsuitable.
- **Clearance**: Allow a minimum of 30cm clearance on all sides for ventilation and access.
- **Power supply**: A standard 13-amp wall socket within 2 metres of the installation site. Do not use extension leads.
- **Door clearance**: Ensure the door opens freely without obstruction.
## Tools Required
- A rubber mallet (provided in the accessory pack)
- A standard Phillips-head screwdriver
- A spirit level
- Two people for the final assembly stages
## Unpacking
Your Gravity sauna is delivered in numbered boxes. Unpack in order and lay all components on a clean surface before beginning. Check all items against the enclosed parts manifest.
## Wall Panel Assembly
All Gravity cabins use a tongue-and-groove interlocking panel system. Begin with the rear wall, ensuring it is vertical using your spirit level. Adjacent side panels slot onto the rear panel tongue and are secured with the provided timber locking pins.
## Floor and Bench Installation
The floor panel installs first, before the walls are raised. Secure with the corner brackets provided. Benches slot onto their support brackets and are locked in place with a quarter-turn cam mechanism — no screws or fixings are visible once installed.
## Heater Installation
**Infrared models**: The panel heaters are pre-wired and connect to the central control unit via the labelled loom connectors. Connections are keyed and cannot be incorrectly installed.
**Traditional models**: The kiuas (heater unit) is secured to the heater bracket on the cabin wall. Load the provided igneous stones into the heater basket, placing larger stones at the base. Connect the power cable to the control panel via the keyed connector.
## Final Checks Before First Use
1. Inspect all panel connections are firm
2. Ensure the control panel is securely mounted
3. Test the door latch opens and closes smoothly
4. On first use, run the sauna empty for 30 minutes to allow any manufacturing residuals to dissipate
